NTT Com enhances Secure Cloud Service in Thailand with NTT Security

Comprehensive solution offers ICT lifecycle management from NTT Communications (Thailand) and NTT Security

Bangkok: October 27, 2016 – NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the global ICT solutions and international communications business within the NTT (NYSE: NTT) Group, announced today an integrated solution combining its highly secure cloud service and managed security services (MSS) for ICT lifecycle management, effective immediately. Potential customers include financial institutions, airlines, manufacturers and internet service providers.

Enterprise Cloud is a comprehensive platform for traditional and cloud-native IT applications. It combines network connectivity and co-location, offered via NTT Com’s Bangkok 1 and Bangkok 2 Data Centers, and third-party cloud services. Benefits include flexible resource building, flexible service management, global solutions and advanced ICT outsourcing. Enterprise Cloud, available in Thailand since 2013, enables financial companies and other businesses to migrate traditional ICT infrastructure to the cloud efficiently and cost effectively.

The platform enables cost optimization through resource sharing and resource allocation in the cloud, as well as data backup, external data storage, security and resource management. Usage statistics can be monitored constantly through VMs, vFirewall or vLoad Balancer.

Using NTT’s cloud platform, customers can link data from locations around the world and conduct resource sharing and data back-up between Japan and overseas locations, while reducing back-up times with the platform’s bandwidth upscale functionality.

The other major component of the newly integrated solution is MSS and related consulting from NTT Security, which enables customers to meet vital security needs as they transition data and applications to the cloud. Cloud-based security options for email and other applications also are available. In addition, NTT Com is currently the only provider in Thailand to offer a 99.99% service availability commitment.

Security analysts continually monitor customer networks for real-time threat detection and validation, severity determination, reporting, remediation advisory, and immediate isolation and protection. Secure IT lifecycle management includes continuous vulnerability testing, patch management, advisory and compliance reporting.

Mr. Manabu Kahara, President of NTT Communications (Thailand) Co., Ltd, said the Bangkok 2 Data Center, located in Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, is the biggest data center in Thailand. NTT Com’s sophisticated and innovative Bangkok 2 Data Center is fully equipped with 1,400 racks, essential facilities covering 10,000 square meters and 100% guaranteed power supply.

Enterprise Cloud has been received favorably in Thailand since its launch 2013, according to Mr. Manabu Kahara, President of NTT Communications (Thailand) Co., Ltd. “Enterprises with cloud ambitions face two major challenges. Firstly, they want to migrate their traditional ICT infrastructure to the cloud to achieve operational and cost efficiencies. Secondly, they must adapt and deploy cloud-based applications for mobile working, social media, big-data, IoT and other digital technologies,” said Mr. Kahara. “As enterprises move towards digitalization and the cloud, Enterprise Cloud helps them innovate their business processes and create new business models.” Kahara added.

The Enterprise Cloud solution additionally includes the provision of full security lifecycle management from NTT Security, providing both consulting services and managed security services (MSS) that helps address organizations’ security concerns as they increasingly move data and applications to cloud.

Mr. Sanit Kashemsanta Na Ayudhaya, Director of Product & Services, NTT Communications (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said the company’s potential customers include financial institutions, airlines, manufacturers and internet service providers. According to Gartner Inc.’s “Magic Quadrant for Network Services, Global (Magic Quadrant)”*1 published in January 2016, NTT Com was evaluated as a leader in terms of completeness of vision and ability to execute. This evaluation is NTT Com’s third consecutive year.

According to Mr. Raymond Teo, Senior Vice President of APAC Field Operations at NTT Security, NTT Security is established to deliver MSS and specialized security expertise that allow clients to take full advantage of an integrated approach to security solutions as part of a wider set of technology services. According to NTT Security’s Global Threat Intelligence Report (GTIR), 6.2 billion attacks on average were detected and defended against annually, while more than 3.5 trillion logs are analyzed, based on data gathered from over 10,000 clients spanning six continents.

“Security is a key concern of organizations transitioning to cloud environments,” said Mr. Teo. “We firmly believe that our integrated platform seamlessly delivers cyber resilience by enabling customers to build secure, high-performance enterprise clouds, while also ensuring that scarce resources are used effectively.”

Enterprise Cloud is currently deployed in 14 locations within 11 countries, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, China (Hong Kong), Australia, Singapore and Malaysia, as well as Thailand. Each location is connected to 196 countries through an IP virtual private network with enhanced cloud security.
